The Role

This Legal 500 firm is looking for a Commercial Litigation Solicitor to join its professional and friendly team in the West End, working alongside highly experienced lawyers on a broad spectrum of commercial disputes.

The role will cover a broad range of commercial litigation and insolvency-related disputes, with particular emphasis on banking litigation and corporate recovery matters. You will be involved in matters including:

• Banking and lender-side litigation
• Fraud, breach of contract and professional negligence claims
• Corporate and shareholder disputes
• Contentious insolvency and corporate recovery
• Mortgage possession proceedings and loan recoveries
• Fixed charge receiver appointments and security enforcement
• Borrower negotiations and restructuring options

You will work closely with clients throughout the lifecycle of a dispute, providing commercially focused advice and taking responsibility for matters with a good level of autonomy. There will be plenty of opportunity to develop your experience across general commercial litigation while building particular expertise in banking and recovery work.

The role would suit a solicitor who enjoys varied commercial disputes work, alongside an interest or existing experience in banking litigation and insolvency.

Requirements

• You will be a Commercial Litigation Solicitor with 1-3 PQE (England & Wales).
• Strong experience in a contentious commercial caseload, with banking litigation experience particularly advantageous.
• Experience of insolvency-related disputes or corporate recovery work would be beneficial.
• A good working knowledge of the Law of Property Act 1925, Insolvency Act 1986 and Civil Procedure Rules.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and case management skills.
• The ability to manage matters autonomously and provide commercially focused advice.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted client relationships.
