Leading National Firm | Real Estate Lawyer - Public Law & Projects | 3+ Years PQE

Use your real estate expertise on high-impact public sector projects, working within a nationally recognised team on complex regeneration, infrastructure and development schemes that shapes communities.

The Firm
This is a forward-thinking transatlantic firm with a strong global outlook, including established referral ties across Europe, South America and beyond. With a wide international network of lawyers, it combines deep sector knowledge with an open, people-centred culture. It has been independently recognised as a best place to work, holds multiple ESG-related industry awards, and has a Board-sponsored DE&I programme that is embedded, not just cosmetic.

The Team
The Public Law and Projects team is a full-service, multidisciplinary group of around 20+ lawyers, bringing together specialists in real estate, commercial, procurement and subsidy control to deliver complete solutions for public sector clients. The team advises on projects spanning regeneration, housing, education, health and energy, and has a standout public sector footprint, acting for one in every three local authorities in England. You will work alongside lawyers who are passionate about social value and who thrive on the intellectual challenge of unconventional, bespoke projects. The team is close-knit and supportive, with a strong social side and a culture that encourages collaboration across offices.

The Role
You will focus on a broad range of real estate transactions with a public sector element, working on large-scale brownfield regeneration schemes, housing delivery projects, heat networks, PFI and education-related developments. No two days are the same. You will navigate bespoke contracts and public sector funding structures, often working opposite major housing developers, and you will play a key role in shaping outcomes that have a visible, lasting impact on communities.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified solicitor with 3+ years' PQE and a proven track record in a broad range of real estate transactions
  • Excellent technical and drafting skills, with the confidence to manage unique, complex matters independently
  • Commercial awareness and the judgement to know when to draw on the wider team's expertise
  • A positive, curious mindset, with a strong desire to learn and tackle unfamiliar legal problems
  • An interest in the public sector; direct public sector experience is an advantage but not essential
  • A collaborative team player willing to support business development and contribute to a shared knowledge culture

What's on Offer

  • High-quality, complex work that genuinely impacts communities, with national reach
  • A full-service, supportive team environment where your real estate expertise is valued as part of a broader, integrated offer
  • A truly inclusive and people-first culture, externally recognised for DE&I, ESG and employee wellbeing
  • Strong flexibility, with hybrid working and part-time options
  • Strong investment in your development, clear career progression, and a platform with international connections
