Top 50 International Firm | Procurement Associate | 3+ Years PQE

An opportunity for a public procurement lawyer to join a market-leading specialist team, working alongside one of the country's foremost procurement partners, as the firm expands its City-based practice into a broader national offering.

The Firm
This is an international firm of more than 170 partners and 1,000 people, with a genuinely distinctive identity. Rather than a generalist full-service model, the firm has built its reputation on deep sector strength connected to the built environment, public services, housing, infrastructure and regulated sectors. The firm is repeatedly recognised for its work in local government, social housing and innovative public service delivery.

Its strategic direction is shaped by a desire to grow responsibly and sustainably, with ESG principles at its core. Teams are structured to be collaborative and supportive, with a strong commitment to giving lawyers early responsibility and long-term development.

The Role
You will join a Tier 1 Procurement team that is expanding beyond its established City base, working directly alongside a partner recognised as one of the leading procurement practitioners in the country. The team advises a 360-degree client base spanning central government, local authorities, NHS trusts, registered providers, charities and private sector bidders.

This is a growth role, created to support the team's strategic expansion, giving you the opportunity to help shape that growth from an early stage.

Day to day, you will provide practical, risk-based advice on complex procurement issues, tendering procedures, and evaluation and qualification criteria. You will draft and advise on the full range of procurement documents under the Procurement Act 2023, the previous regime and private sector frameworks, from tender notices and procurement specific questionnaires through to invitation documents, assessment summaries and transparency notices.

This is a team that takes its culture seriously, with a collegiate atmosphere and work that sits at the overlap of law, policy and real-world delivery.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified solicitor with demonstrable procurement law experience, strong technical skills, and an interest in state aid/subsidy control and related sectors
  • Commercially aware, with drive, enthusiasm and a strong client focus
  • Methodical, disciplined and organised, with excellent communication skills
  • A collaborative team player who takes a proactive approach to business development

What's on Offer

  • A seat in a Tier 1 procurement team with a varied, high-quality caseload
  • A growth role with real influence, as the team expands its reach beyond the City
  • Public-facing, policy-sensitive matters for clients in housing, healthcare, government and the third sector
  • Real investment in your development, with structured career frameworks and internal progression
  • A collaborative, inclusive culture with ESG and responsible business embedded in the firm's strategy
  • International exposure, competitive salary, flexible benefits and hybrid working
