If you're a Litigation Solicitor looking for greater responsibility and the opportunity to handle more substantial disputes, this is an opportunity to join an established London firm where you can become a key member of a busy Litigation practice.

The team handles a varied caseload spanning property disputes, contentious probate and commercial litigation, and is looking for an experienced litigator who can take ownership of larger and more complex matters while working closely with the Head of Litigation.

The Firm
This is a longstanding, full-service London law firm with 16 solicitors alongside paralegals and support staff, operating across three London offices. The firm acts for both businesses and private individuals, with a broad practice spanning litigation, property, corporate and commercial, family and private client work. This provides the Litigation team with an established client base alongside opportunities for referrals from across the wider firm.

It has a particularly stable and close-knit culture, with low staff turnover and a track record of developing people internally. Its relatively compact structure also means strong lawyers can become highly visible within the practice and make a meaningful contribution to its future direction.

There is no rigid promotion structure, with progression driven primarily by performance and capability. The current Head of Litigation is a good example of this, having originally joined the firm as a paralegal before training, qualifying and progressing through the practice to Partner.

With longer-term succession opportunities developing within the firm, there is genuine scope for an ambitious lawyer to build their career with the practice.

The Role
You will join a busy Litigation practice handling a broad range of disputes for businesses and private individuals. A significant proportion of the team's work involves property disputes and contentious probate, alongside a developing Commercial Litigation practice handling matters such as contractual disputes, shareholder and company disputes and insolvency-related litigation.

The team handles matters through the High Court and County Court, alongside mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, with exposure to larger and more complex cases requiring strategic and commercially focused advice.

You will sit between the Head of Litigation and the more junior members of the team, taking responsibility for more substantial matters while working closely with the Head of Department where appropriate.

The firm is also keen to continue developing its Commercial Litigation offering. For someone with existing client relationships or their own work, there would be scope to play a particularly active role in growing this side of the practice.

Alongside running your own matters, you will have the opportunity to support more junior lawyers, develop client relationships and contribute to the continued development of the wider Litigation team.

The Candidate

• Qualified Solicitor with at least 3 years' PQE
• Broad litigation and dispute resolution experience
• Experience of property disputes and/or contentious probate would be particularly valuable
• Commercial Litigation experience across areas such as contractual, shareholder or insolvency disputes would also be welcomed
• Comfortable taking ownership of larger and more complex matters
• Experience of High Court and/or County Court litigation
• Commercially minded and able to provide practical advice to clients
• Confident managing direct client relationships
• Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating with colleagues
• Willing to support and mentor more junior lawyers
• Interest in business development and contributing to the continued growth of the practice
