Head of People & Culture | Top Tier L500 Firm | London, City | Hybrid Working from home 50% of the week
The Firm:
An established and growing law firm is investing in its future, with people, culture and organisational development central to its next stage of growth.
With a strong set of values and a clear strategic direction, the firm recognises that attracting, developing and retaining exceptional talent is fundamental to its continued success.
The Role:
This newly created leadership position offers the opportunity to shape the firm's people strategy from the outset. Working closely with the Management Committee, Strategy Board and senior leadership team, you will lead the development of a modern, commercially focused people function that supports business growth while strengthening culture, engagement and performance.
The remit spans strategic planning and hands-on delivery, covering talent acquisition, leadership development, succession planning, reward, employee relations and organisational change. You will also work alongside the Business Development & Marketing team to align the employee value proposition with the firm's wider brand and values.
As a key member of the Business Services leadership team, you will have the influence to shape how the firm attracts, develops and supports its people for the long term.
Why This Role?
- Shape the people strategy: Build and deliver a firm-wide strategy with a direct influence on future growth and organisational development.
- A genuine leadership opportunity: Work closely with senior decision-makers, advising on workforce planning, succession and leadership capability.
- Build and develop the function: Take ownership of people processes, systems and initiatives, with scope to introduce new ideas and drive meaningful improvements.
- Influence culture and engagement: Develop an inclusive, high-performing workplace and strengthen the firm's employee value proposition.
- A broad, commercially focused remit: Combine strategic leadership with practical delivery across recruitment, development, reward and employee relations.
The Candidate & Benefits:
- You will be an experienced HR leader, ideally from a law firm, professional services or partnership environment, with a track record of developing and implementing effective people strategies.
- You will bring strong commercial judgement, sound knowledge of UK employment law and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders. Equally comfortable setting strategic direction and handling operational challenges, you will be pragmatic, solutions-focused and motivated by the opportunity to make a lasting impact.
- A CIPD qualification, relevant degree or equivalent experience is essential. Chartered FCIPD status and experience implementing HR systems and people analytics frameworks would be advantageous.
- A competitive package is available, reflecting the seniority and scope of this newly created role. Further details can be discussed confidentially.
- Hybrid Working 50% of the week
