Family Solicitor | NQ-2 PQE | Reading

A long established, full service Thames Valley firm, with one of the region's largest and most respected family teams, is looking for an NQ+ solicitor to join its Reading office. The team is top tier recognised, handles complex, high net worth financial work alongside sensitive children matters, and has a culture built around support, development, and genuine work life balance.

From the outset, you will have direct client contact, meaningful file responsibility, and the chance to learn from people who do this work at the highest level regionally.

The Role

  • Assist with a caseload of family matters, including complex divorce, financial remedies (often involving businesses), private children act applications, and international surrogacy work
  • Work directly with the partner on high value and sensitive cases, you will not be hidden behind a screen of secretaries
  • Assist senior associate's on specialist child arrangements cases, including contact disputes and more complex welfare matters
  • Keep clients fully informed, building the kind of trust that generates repeat instructions and referrals
  • Support the firm's business development and networking activities, attending events, building relationships with local professionals


What You Bring

  • Training seat experience in family law (ideally including both financial remedies and children work)
  • NQ+ PQE
  • Enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and empathy for clients at a difficult time
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • A team first mindset, with the ability to work collaboratively alongside partners and associates
  • A commitment to the firm's values of excellence, integrity, and approachability
