Commercial Property Solicitor (2-3 PQE) | Established London Boutique | Excellent Career Development

If you're a Commercial Property Solicitor looking for greater responsibility, direct client exposure and genuine career development, this is a chance to join a highly regarded London property boutique with an impressive client base and a supportive approach to developing its lawyers.

You'll work alongside experienced Partners on a broad range of commercial property matters, advising property investors, developers and established corporate occupiers, including household names such as Sony and Octopus Energy.

This is a firm where junior lawyers are encouraged to develop beyond handling work passed down from senior colleagues, with support to build client relationships as their experience grows.

The Firm

This is an established specialist Commercial Property law firm in central London, recognised by The Legal 500 and known for providing high-quality, commercially focused advice.

Founded over 20 years ago by experienced City lawyers, the practice has grown into a successful boutique with a client base spanning corporate occupiers, commercial landlords, property companies, investors, developers and high-net-worth individuals.

The firm has particular strength in corporate occupier work, advising businesses on their office, retail, industrial and leisure property requirements. Its clients include national and international organisations, some of which instruct leading City firms for their wider corporate matters but choose this practice for property work.

The team is highly experienced, with senior lawyers bringing decades of expertise across commercial property transactions, investment, development and landlord and tenant matters.

The firm maintains a friendly, approachable culture with a strong emphasis on work-life balance, direct client relationships and developing its lawyers over the long term.

The Role

You will join the Commercial Property team as a Solicitor, working closely with experienced Partners while taking responsibility for your own matters and developing client relationships.

The work is varied, covering both landlord and tenant matters across a broad range of property types and sectors.

Your caseload will include:

  • Commercial leases, including new lettings, renewals and lease negotiations

  • Acting for landlords, property investors and developers on acquisitions and disposals

  • Corporate occupier work, including office relocations and new premises

  • Commercial property refinancing and investment transactions

  • Industrial and warehouse property matters

  • Retail and leisure premises, including bars and restaurants

  • General commercial landlord and tenant advice

  • Exposure to property disputes and related contentious matters

You'll gain exposure to the commercial considerations behind these transactions, working directly with clients and other professionals to deliver practical solutions.

The firm also encourages lawyers interested in developing their own client relationships, providing opportunities through its existing network of clients, agents and professional contacts.

The Candidate

  • Qualified Solicitor with approximately 2-4 years' PQE

  • Solid Commercial Property experience, ideally covering a range of transactional matters

  • Experience acting for commercial landlords, investors or occupiers

  • Confident handling matters independently, with appropriate supervision

  • Commercially minded with strong communication and client-facing skills

  • Interested in developing client relationships and progressing within a specialist property practice

  • Experience acting for tenants would be advantageous, although training can be provided

What's On Offer

  • Competitive salary and wider benefits package

  • High-quality commercial property work for established investors, developers and corporate occupiers

  • Direct access to highly experienced Partners and opportunities to learn from them

  • Greater autonomy and client responsibility than is often available within larger firms

  • Opportunity to develop your own client relationships, with a 10% fee incentive for clients you introduce

  • Established workflow, with no expectation to bring an existing client following

  • Long-term career development within a successful specialist property practice

  • Friendly, collaborative culture with a strong emphasis on work-life balance

  • Sensible working hours without regular late evenings

  • Flexible hybrid working, with two days per week in the office

  • Discretionary annual bonus

One of the firm's solicitors joined without an existing client base at 5 PQE and developed a practice generating approximately £300,000 in annual fees within five years. This reflects the firm's commitment to supporting lawyers in developing commercially, rather than simply managing work passed down from senior colleagues.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Property Solicitor looking to develop their expertise, gain exposure to high-quality clients and build a long-term career within a supportive firm.
