Clinical Negligence Solicitor | 6+ PQE | South Coast | Strong Partnership track

A long established regional firm with a genuine reputation for healthcare and clinical negligence work is looking for a 6+ PQE solicitor to join its South Coast team. The firm traces its roots back centuries, but its approach is thoroughly modern: client focused, technically rigorous, and built around a genuine partnership style of service.

The clinical negligence practice is a recognised strength, handling everything from birth and brain injuries to cancer misdiagnosis, surgical errors, sepsis, and fatal claims. The team is accredited by the leading industry bodies, and the work is consistently complex, emotionally significant, and backed by serious expert evidence.

What Makes This Different
This is not a high volume claims factory. You will not be chasing portal cases or racing against fixed fees. The team takes on meaningful, often life changing claims where the legal and human stakes are real.

  • You will run your own caseload of complex clinical negligence claims, with supervision and support from highly experienced senior solicutors and partners who have decades of collective expertise
  • You will handle the full lifecycle: initial investigation, medical records analysis, instructing experts, drafting pleadings, negotiating settlements, and where necessary, trial preparation
  • You will work alongside specialists in personal injury, healthcare regulatory, and court of protection work, meaning your clients get wraparound support, not just a claim
  • You will have genuine client contact, building relationships with people at some of the hardest moments of their lives. Empathy is not a soft skill here; it is a core requirement

What You Bring

  • 6+ years' PQE in clinical negligence, with strong experience across a range of serious injury claims (birth, brain, spinal, misdiagnosis, surgical errors, fatal accidents)
  • A thorough understanding of medical evidence, expert witnesses, and the procedural nuances of clinical negligence litigation
  • The ability to manage a substantial and sensitive caseload independently, while knowing when to seek input from more senior colleagues
  • A calm, compassionate, and professional manner, you can give difficult advice clearly, and you can support clients through lengthy, uncertain processes
  • Ambition to develop your technical reputation and, over time, contribute to the team's growth and mentoring of junior lawyers

The Firm

  • Long established regional firm with offices across the South Coast and South East
  • A culture described as friendly, accessible, and collegiate. Public feedback highlights approachable management, visible wellness initiatives, and genuine flexibility
  • Big enough to offer variety and cross referral opportunities; small enough that you are known, not a number

Why This Makes Sense
The South Coast offers a quality of life that London cannot match. And this firm offers the platform to build a lasting career in clinical negligence, with experienced mentors, a collaborative environment, and a caseload that makes a difference.

If you are ready to move into a team where the work is serious, the culture is supportive, and your next decade has genuine meaning, this is the move.
