£85000 - £100000 per annum bonus benefits

Based in the West End and ranked in the Legal 500, this firm is highly regarded across several areas. Employment law is a prosperous area for this firm. The team is home to first-class lawyers, including a Partner who worked for one of the largest multinational law firms prior to this firm.

The Firm

Now at close to 100 employees, the firm's client base includes start-ups, Tech businesses, household names and PLCs.
Transactions, impressively, range in size roughly from £20m to £100million with the Corporate and Commercial Property departments recently having undertaken some seriously heavyweight work, giving much larger firms a run for their money.

The firm is well-known for its particular expertise and reputation with HNW individuals, recently having undertaken lots of work for a well-known case in the media.

Within the last 24 months, the firm has attracted some heavyweight Partners with big client bases. Moreover, they have plans to grow over the next couple of years steadily, with the right people. Employment is a hugely important area in its own right, but also in terms of support to the commercial company operation. The work they deal with is often complex, varied and of high value. The practice has a progressive and dynamic culture with a varying range of levels of experience, further enhancing the culture.

The Role

The firm is seeking a new Employment Senior Associate to join their flourishing West End office.

In this role, you will essentially be the most senior person below the Partnership, making it a fantastic chance to embed yourself within the team and make an impact, setting your career up for the future.

The Employment team advises companies and their boards, charities, agencies and public bodies on all aspects of employment law.

They also advise individuals, including senior executives.

They are looking for someone who has a good history of business development. While not looking for a following as such, contacts that you have gained through your career would be essential to have, so you can show yourself to be the right kind of person for the future of this department.

What sets this role apart is that if you have a broad sector focus, that is interesting to them, but equally, if you're niche in sector focus, they will support you to be the expert in that field.

You will need to have very solid experience in supporting Corporate departments and lawyers in their deals when employment-related matters come up.

The Partners in the team have backgrounds, including firms in the Magic/Silver circle. However, they are not stuck to one mindset and are open to West End, Regional, or City candidate's - it's about the person and the experience you have had, not purely about your background.

You will have the following:

  • You will have at least 5 PQE (no upper limit to experience for this role)
  • You should have managed junior associates.
  • You should have been involved in business development and have some contacts and relationships (not necessarily a 'following')
  • You will be confident in dealing with complex matters.
  • Salary is very much negotiable depending on your background. Still, it is likely to be around 80-90k for someone a few, but not many contacts, and this could pay £100,000 for the right person with some commercial value to them by way of relationships that can be utilised as time goes on.
