This modern University is ranked the best (non-specialist) in London. They are looking to add to their roster at the start of 2023 in the shape of a Commercial Legal Advisor. Based in West London, there are fantastic transport links and local businesses in the area. The Department
The University are a proactive, dedicated customer-focused, collegiate team. Legal Services supports the University to effectively identify, manage and mitigate legal, regulatory, financial and reputational risks, as well as assisting in the implementation of legal compliance across the University.

They work collaboratively with both professional services and academic departments to provide pragmatic advice to colleagues on diverse legal matters; and process a wide range of agreements covering commercial activities, research funding, collaboration projects, software licences, academic partnerships, apprenticeships, external hire, practice placements, international recruitment agents, supply of goods/services, procurement, and data protection.


The Role
The role provides an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of commercial and educational contracts. As the Commercial Legal Adviser, you will provide legal and administrative support to the Head of Legal Services, as well as other members of the department.

Duties will include but not limited to the review, drafting and advice of diverse range of contracts across the University's core business areas, liaising with internal clients, and external stakeholders, managing databases and filing systems, organising meetings, completing and filing statutory returns.

  • Substantial experience in drafting, review and advising on contracts
  • Good analytical skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
