This rapidly expanding practice punch well above their weight in the work that they do, and are now in a position to further their regional offering by developing each department - with a focus on finding their Head of Dispute Resolution & Litigation.

The Firm

They are a full-service high street firm servicing a wide range of local and regional businesses and individuals, who pride themselves on maintaining their identity as an approachable, sociable yet professional firm.

The Partners have decided that due to ongoing success, they wish to further their offering throughout the region and for this reason they are seeking client facing, business development excelling Senior Solicitors or Partners to join them in this exciting time.

They focus on providing the best legal advice to their clients, but without the legal jargon, the volume of work regularly referred to them is a testament to their focus on client care and expanding reputation.

This practice are open to hearing from experienced Solicitors, Senior Solicitors and Partners who are looking for autonomy, to develop their offering further throughout the region. Should you have contacts or a potential following, this is highly advantageous, but not essential.

The Role

The firm are seeking to hire a Head of Dispute Resolution & Litigation to join this leading Essex firm

This is a key strategic hire within the business, the firm are committed to onboarding the very best talent and therefore there are some very progressive positions on offer at with a clear route to Partner. This firm are dedicated to investing and developing their offering further which has created a rare opportunity for an entrepreneurial individual to bring their experience to a forward thinking and expanding firm.

You will be responsible for building or developing your own client base in the region, the firm have identified that they are having to turn away work regularly - so although you will be responsible for business development, there will be a stream of referrals from the other departments.

The firm will provide you will full support from Paralegals, Trainee Solicitors and a Legal Secretary who you will be responsible for managing.

The caseload will depend on your own focus, but you can be expected to work on a range of matters such as:

  • Employment Disputes
  • Professional Negligence
  • Will Disputes
  • Insolvency & Debt Recovery
  • and Property Disputes.

If you are an experienced and ambitious Lawyer seeking a step up in terms of responsibility, or an experienced Lawyer seeking autonomy and the opportunity to work in a friendly professional team - this is a progressive opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking regional firm.


  • You will be a Dispute Resolution & Litigation Solicitor with at least 5 years PQE
  • There is no upper limit in PQE
  • Experience of managing and mentoring more junior colleagues is advantageous
  • You should have first-class communication and strong business development skills
  • A transferable client base or regional contacts is highly advantageous
