The Role

This Top 150 UK law firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Tier 2 Legal 500 ranked Private Client Department with strong prospects for Partnership.

This position comes with the stand-out opportunity of a fast-track to partnership. There are very realistic, exciting opportunities with this firm to develop and grow as a Private Client solicitor. The department's size and structure will allow for the right person to rapidly develop their personal practice.

The work will be varied, and the level of exposure you'll get will help you consolidate your career - while the firm will provide the required level of support, you take the lead on matters.

You will manage a varied caseload involving all aspects of international wills, trusts, tax, estate and succession planning. You will act autonomously with only nominal oversight from one of the team's 5 partners. As this is a senior position, you will also gain the opportunity to mentor and supervise more junior members of the team.

Work will involve advising on domicile, residence and the remittance basis of taxation; setting up Excluded Property Trusts; advising on UK taxation for international clients and offshore trusts including IGT, NRCGT/CGT and IT.

Providing advice on charitable giving and philanthropic planning for UK and international estate planning.
Other work will include advising on succession planning options of ultra-high-net-worth international clients, such as establishing Private Trust Company structures and Family constitutions.

With the practice recognised in Chambers HNW, it is essential the successful candidate has previous experience advising both UK and International clients. You will engage directly in a client facing role and participate in exciting business development to further grow the team.

The position suits a Senior Associate seeking to achieve Partnership in a top Private Client practice.

Requirements

• England & Wales Qualified Solicitor with at least 6 years PQE
• STEP qualified or undertaking STEP exams
• Experience advising and acting for both UK and international HNW clients
• Strong communication and inter-personal skills.
