The Role

The firm is seeking to hire a Knowledge Lawyer to support the Shipping team in the City of London office.

You will work closely with an industry leading team, gaining exposure to an excellent quality of work. The knowledge department of this celebrated law practice as been nominated for a number of awards.

Duties will involve:

• Identifying opportunities to improve knowledge or information services and systems in line with the Knowledge Strategy.
• Analysing the various IT solutions on offer and how best to apply them to the Marine, Trade and Energy team.
• Providing high level input on the team's strategy, analysing and keeping the team informed about legal issues as they arise.
• Planning and delivering knowledge and information projects and identifying metrics to measure their success.
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders and teams to understand and manage expectations and increase engagement in knowledge initiatives.
• Maintaining knowledge systems, working with vendors and content owners to ensure the quality of the content and improve ease of access for users.
• Supporting legal and central teams in the collection and sharing of knowledge, information and best practice.
• Assisting with the formation of a database of precedent documents for both non-contentious and contentious work, particularly in relation to yachts and super yachts.
• Supporting the creation of a toolkit in relation to, for example, admiralty claims, arbitration issues, and anti-suit injunctions.

Requirements:

• You will have experience as a Knowledge Lawyer
• You will have knowledge of shipping law and a passion for the subject
• You will have strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and communication skills
