This internationally renowned Top 50 firm seeks a Contentious Construction Associate (NQ-2 years PQE). With an established network of offices in the UK and internationally, they are looking to continue their expansion, making it exciting to join the firm at this time.

The Role:

This highly ranked and award-winning firm is seeking a Contentious Construction Associate NQ-2 PQE to join their City of London office.

The team provides a comprehensive range of construction law solutions across the wide spectrum of projects undertaken in the construction industry.

This is a unique, exciting chance to join a leading UK Law firm where most work is UK based. Still, a considerable amount of the work is international, an area which is consistently growing.

Clients include private and public institutions, property owners, developers, funders, contractors, specialist sub-contractors, suppliers and construction/design consultants.

The ideal individual would have previous experience working at a large firm with an established construction team.

The work will often be based on standard form contracts or bespoke drafting and tailored to meet a project's requirements. They vary from project-specific EPC and EPCM contracts to multi-party and collaborative working arrangements, encompassing NEC and traditional JCT contracts.


  • The candidate will mainly have experience in contentious construction law, with practical experience in the Pre-action Protocol for Construction and Engineering Disputes, TCC litigation, mediation, adjudication and, ideally, arbitration.
  • Good working knowledge of the most popular standard forms of construction contracts is required,
  • Experience in disputes relating to payment issues, change, defects, termination and professional negligence.
  • The candidate must demonstrate experience in taking responsibility for the conduct of cases and the ability to work as a team player and build strong client relationships.

Person specification:

  • You will be a Construction Associate NQ-2 PQE
  • You will be mainly experienced in contentious construction.
