The Role

Commercial Legal Counsel - London - You will be a key member of the Legal team, reporting directly to the General Counsel.

The team is looking for a smart, ambitious, driven Commercial Legal Counsel to assist with commercial contracts, governance and in-house policies.

You will need to hit the ground running from the start, so they are looking for self-starters who relish that kind of challenge and pace in helping the business.

You will be involved in legal, commercial and governance-related matters in all aspects and levels of the business, working closely with the Legal and Compliance team, the Procurement team and the wider organisation.

Duties:

• There will be a broad range of commercial contracts to negotiate.
• You will be reviewing and updating their commercial contracts and working with various Execs/internal stakeholders.
• Handling ongoing diligence of business partners and outsourcing arrangements
• Work with the General Counsel and Execs on governance and ESG related matters.
• Work with the marketing team to ensure that copy meets the required legal and regulatory standards.
• Other legal aspects that may impact an in-house function, for example, matters surrounding commercial litigation, employment law and health and safety.
• Keeping abreast of legal developments within or outside of the business.

The Requirements:

The role requires strong experience in the commercial contracts, corporate governance and financial services space, gained in private practice from a top law firm, and ideally with some in-house or secondment experience.

• You will be 4 years PQE (no upper limit)
• You will be either in private practice or in a relevant in-house role.
• Close attention to deal, commercial awareness and legal acumen
• Confidence and interpersonal skills when engaging with all levels of people within a business
