The role

The firm is seeking to hire a Publishing Senior Associate / Partner to join the firm's office based in the heart of the West End of London.

The firm deals with a very broad range of media and entertainment matters. Due to increased workflow, the firm is seeking to bring in a senior publishing specialist to deal with both writers and publishers. You will deal with a varied and interesting caseload which will include but not be limited to;

  • Both print and digital publishing, clearance and acquisition of content and rights, Publishing contracts - drafting and advising on all types of author, illustrator, ghost writer, translator, editor and project manager contracts for print and digital media
  • Advising on royalty and payment structures, interpretation of rights and key performance terms
  • Pre-publication advice - libel, privacy, copyright, data protection and other pre-publication advice, and advice on marketing and advertising campaigns, including in social media and more traditional media
  • Magazines, newspapers and journals - advising publishers, freelance journalists, artists and photographers

Requirements

  • You will be a Lawyer with good experience in publishing / media with at least 5 years PQE (there is no upper limit regarding PQE)
  • You should have experience in business development and building professional relationships resulting in you generating business
