The Role

The company is seeking to hire a Legal Counsel primarily experienced in Real Estate.

The role would be ideal for someone who has, on top of their Real Estate focus, has ideally also had exposure to Corporate/Commercial matters. This is due to the nature of the work (see below).

You will assist the Legal Director in giving transactional support, supporting a wide range of real estate transactions from corporate real estate acquisitions and disposals to asset-led acquisitions, assisting with senior debt facilities, forward funding arrangements and the negotiation of occupational agreements such as agreement for leases.You will be managing the day-to-day transactional processes such as co-ordination and response to multiple due diligence streams, giving instruction where appropriate to external counsel in relation to the negotiation of transaction documents, summarising deal status and reporting to the wider team and managing external stakeholder relationships such as trustees, insurers, occupiers, funders and tenants.Assisting, as required, with the appraisal of new assets, including supporting the acquisitions team with underwriting legal costs and performing due diligence on assets before instructing external counsel.Providing legal support during the development life cycle of an asset, including supporting colleagues with the negotiation of development agreements such as build contracts, agreements for lease and Section 106 Agreements and understanding the implications of stakeholder requirements and the interaction with other transaction documentation.

Requirements:

Commercial Legal Counsel - London - You will be a key member of the Legal team, reporting directly to the General Counsel.

The team is looking for a smart, ambitious, driven Commercial Legal Counsel to assist with commercial contracts, governance and in-house policies.

You will need to hit the ground running from the start, so they are looking for self-starters who relish that kind of challenge and pace in helping the business.

You will be involved in legal, commercial and governance-related matters in all aspects and levels of the business, working closely with the Legal and Compliance team, the Procurement team and the wider organisation.

Duties:

There will be a broad range of commercial contracts to negotiate.You will be reviewing and updating their commercial contracts and working with various Execs/internal stakeholders.Handling ongoing diligence of business partners and outsourcing arrangementsWork with the General Counsel and Execs on governance and ESG related matters.Work with the marketing team to ensure that copy meets the required legal and regulatory standards.Other legal aspects that may impact an in-house function, for example, matters surrounding commercial litigation, employment law and health and safety.Keeping abreast of legal developments within or outside of the business.

The Role: Legal & Operations:

The company has bases in London and Oxford, and you can be largely remote in this role with attendance to an HQ where required on an ad-hoc basis.

You will lead and manage this evolution from a legal perspective, assuring we adhere to local legal and compliance requirements as a company, employer and regulated entity.Regulatory Requirements: they are regulated by the UK FCA as an Authorised Payment Institution. Requirements:
