Isn’t it great when the sun shines now?
I say “when” because it just as easily hails currently. But, the blossom is on the trees, the vaccines are going in, the kids are back at school, and, fingers crossed, we’re edging closer to stepping back into familiar, yet strangely distant territory of socialising, meeting across the water cooler once again, and maybe even hugging those we love for the first time in a long time.
But I know for some, contemplating a return to being surrounded by crowds of people, or even just a few might come with a hefty dose of anxiety. There probably aren’t many of us who relish staying in lockdown, but there’s a comfort blanket that has come with it, and the idea of having that whipped away is scary.
I, for one, will go slow. I think we need to set our own pace and allow people to say ‘no’ to gatherings and not feel social pressure to dive into socialising.
And in the meantime, it’s so nice to feel the sun on my face this spring, on the odd occasion it makes an appearance. Got to love the small wonders at the moment.
