The New Year has begun with yet another lockdown. So, make some 2021 wellbeing resolutions for your employers to give them the boost they need.
It’s been proven that focusing on staff’s mental health is good for business. So here are some practical ways you can start 2021 with some positive resolutions:
- Encourage an open dialogue about mental health.
With over half a million people in the UK suffering from work-related stress, anxiety or depression the chances are someone in your workplace is struggling. Conversations help employers work out how to tailor support to individuals in need.
- Start ‘mental health’ days.
Staff take a day off when they have a cold. So, allow them to do the same if they’re having a bad ‘mental health’ day. This isn’t just for people struggling with mental illness, but for anyone who could do with a day to recuperate.
- Look after yourself.
If you’re a leader or manager, you probably find it hard to put time into your own mental health - but a bit of self-care goes a long way. Find ways to actively rest that brain.
Let’s take the stigma out of mental health at work in 2021 and encourage workplaces to support their staff.
